All properties within the Municipality of Deloraine-Winchester are assessed by the Province of Manitoba Assessment Branch in Souris.

Properties are assessed after completion of building a new dwelling or structure in which a building permit was required.  The Province has also adopted a policy in which every property in Manitoba is reassessed every two years to keep assessments more current with the housing market.

Reassessment notices are mailed the year before new assessment values are to take effect.  2027 is a reassessment year and the notices have been sent by the Souris Assessment Branch in the summer of 2026.   The 2027 assessed values are based on the market value of your property as of April 1st, 2025.

We will be hosting an Open House for 2027 Property Reassessment on July 8th, 2026.

This is an opportunity to discuss questions such as:

  • Why is my property being reassessed?
  • Will an increase in my 2027 assessment mean an increase in my property taxes?
  • Why am I getting an assessment notice now?

Date: Wednesday, July 8th, 2026

Time: 10:00am - 2:00pm

Location: Deloraine-Winchester Municipal Office (129 Broadway St N)
